Despite their longevity, tile roofs are not completely impervious to damage. Over time, due to age or various weather conditions, they will need to be repaired.

When repairing a tile roof, the first step is to thoroughly inspect the roof for any broken, cracked, shifted, or missing tiles. It is important to note any other potential problems like exposed nails, signs of rust, or broken tiles around the valleys, ridges, and eaves. If cracked tiles are identified, the damage should be further assessed to determine whether the tile needs to be replaced or if it can be repaired.

If the damage is too extensive, the broken tile should be removed and replaced with a new one that matches the existing materials. It is important to remember that when replacing tile, live tiles should never be moved in order to ensure a perfect fit and leak-proof seal. If the tile needs to be cut to fit a certain area, be sure to practice safety to prevent injury.

Once the missing or damaged tiles are located and replaced, it is time to begin repairs. All tiles should be checked for secureness by gently tapping them into place. Still looking to learn more and push the limits of what he had been taught he moved to the Sierra Nevada mountains where he ran crews for Carter Roofing, Robinson Roofing and Matteson Roofing before finally opening the doors of Warren Roofing in 2008.
